what is a listserv?
A listserv is an electronic mailing list. It is one e-mail address, identified by a single name, to which several people may be subscribed.

Subscription may be via your email program or the world wide web. Subscribers receive all the correspondence that other people exchange via email on the listserv.

Everything that you write to the list will get broadcast to everybody else on the list, so if you have something that is not of general interest, or is specific to one person - send a private e-mail directly to that person, not to the list.

The Academic Senate created and maintains four listservs, as follows:

academic-announce
and academic-forum, two public listservs for the benefit of the academic community; and senate-constituents, for Senate constituents (faculty, chairs and persons who teach) only.

senate-members
, a private listserv for Senators
