Welcome to Pratt Institute! We are pleased you have joined our community and look forward to meeting you soon. In support of the institute's commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and to help you successfully navigate your first semester at Pratt, you are invited to take part in the Institute's New Faculty Orientation. SUMMARY OF ORIENTATION PROGRAM
Each full session (morning or afternoon) on the Brooklyn campus takes about three hours & aims to help new FT and PT faculty accomplish the following:

| 01 |
|
Complete employment processing (I-9s and related materials) and be placed on payroll. |
|
|
|
| 02 |
|
Establish your OneKey username & password for e-services and computing resources, such as pratt email, my.pratt.edu portal, the Learning Management System, wireless access and educational discounts with vendors like Dell and Apple. |
|
|
|
| 03 |
|
Obtain your Pratt employee photo ID. Your photo ID will allow you access to institute facilities and resources, including the library, multi-media services, parking and the athletics resource center. |
|
|
|
| 04 |
|
Receive an overview of the applicable benefits package |
|
|
|
| 05 |
|
And, generally, receive information about the institute and its resources which would help you succeed as you begin teaching. |
|
|
|
 Pratt's division of Information Technology joins the Welcome Team to help keep you connected throughout the academic year. In addition to setting up your log-in credentials, IT will conduct a one-hour introductory workshop on the LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS). The LMS at Pratt Institute provides faculty with an online platform for use with their classes. The LMS supports faculty use of "traditional" online content and activities such as providing a central location for links to files, offers a wide array of features such as chat rooms, blogs, wikis and online tests plus supports multimedia formats including Flash, streaming video, podcasts to name a few.
