Subscription to the Senate's public listservs, academic-announce, academic-forum and learning, is voluntary, free, and open to everyone in the Institute's community.

academic-announce Subscribers
3,736 subscribers as of April 2, 2006
This breaks down to the following approximate numbers:

• Faculty: 800+
• All Chairs and Asst Chairs
• All Academic Directors
• All Deans
• Upper Administration: President, Provost and 3 of 4 VPs
• Some Administrative Directors
• Trustees: 1
• Balance: Staff, students, recent graduates, and past employees (the latter two groups did not unsubscribe)

academic-forum Subscribers
659 subscribers as of January 2, 2006
This breaks down to the following approximate numbers:

• Faculty: 521+
• Chairs and Asst Chairs: All except for 3
• Academic Directors: All except for 2
• Deans: 3 out of 4
• Upper Administration: President, Provost and 3 of 4 VPs
• Administrative Directors: not known
• Balance: Staff and Students

Please excuse the general approximations, particularly the undefined "Balance" designation. The Senate's previous Subscription Request Form did not require subscribers to submit data which would have provided information about subscribers' affiliations or status. These fields were intentionally made optional in order to encourage submissions and participation.

The Subscription Request Form has since been re-designed to address these needs.
