ABOUT THE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT FUND
2008-2009 Faculty Development Fund Recipients (download)
Purpose
Now in its fifteenth year, the purpose of the fund is to provide financial support for the development and advancement of full-time faculty, chairpersons, and members of the adjunct and visiting faculty. This year’s awards will total $65,000 with $15,000 allocated to encourage the development of collaborative/cross disciplinary courses/studies/projects at the Institute.
Faculty must have completed three years of service, including 2009-2010, to be eligible for an individual grant or primary applicant on a joint grant. However, faculty with only one year of service including 2009-2010 are eligible when applying as a secondary applicant on a joint grant - as long as the primary applicant has at least three years of service.
Increased Support For Faculty Development
In 2005-2006, Pratt Trustee Edmund S. Twining III and his wife Diana Reuter Twining demonstrated their support and exemplary commitment to the professional development of Pratt Institute faculty with a generous gift of $50,000. This significantly enhanced the Fund's endowment, which presently stands at over $650,000.
Download President Schutte's letter to members of the Academic Senate and the FDF committee, notifying them of the Twining/Reuter gift.
