FDF COMMITTEE & PROCESS 2009-2010 Application Form & Guideines (download WORD doc) The Faculty Development Fund Awards Committee is appointed by the Academic Senate. All record keeping and procedural matters are coordinated by the Office of the Provost. Awards criteria, process and schedule, including their amendment, are mutually discussed and resolved by the Senate and Provost's office. Recommendations and amendments related to FDF criteria and process may be proposed by anyone at any time within the Pratt community by writing to the senate. The FDF Committee is composed of at least five faculty members who have not indicated their intention to apply for a grant in the current year. There must be a faculty representative from each of the four schools (Architecture, Art and Design, Information and Library Science, Liberal Arts and Sciences), and the Library. The grant proposals will be evaluated by every member of the FDF Committee. Evaluations will be made by consensus. At the conclusion of its deliberations, the Committee will report its recommendations to the Provost, who will determine the final awards. The Provost will inform faculty who have received awards and make a public announcement of the recipients. COMMITTEE CHARGE The Committee will consider the following: 1. The project’s potential for the enhancement of the professional development of the applicant and/or the project’s enhancement of cross disciplinary courses/studies at the Institute. 2. The reasonableness of the budget 3. The aesthetic, cultural, or scholarly contribution of the project to the Institute or the community at large. The Committee can 1. Approve both the project and the budget; 2. Approve the project, but reduce the budget; or 3. Reject the project.
