ELIGIBILITY
DEADLINE: Monday, March 23, 5 PM
SENATE CONSTITUENTS
Senate constituents include all Chairs, Assistant Chairs and persons that teach in one or more of the four schools or the Library at Pratt Institute. They include:
- Full-time faculty
- Part-time faculty
- Chairs and Assistant Chairs, including those with interim and acting designations
- Staff and administrators who teach, including Tutors, Lecturers, Technicians, Coordinators, Assistants to Chair, Deans, Directors, Assistant Directors and Associate Directors.
- Faculty, Chairs/Assistant Chairs on leaves of absence.
ELIGIBILITY TO RUN FOR SENATE SEAT
Chairs, Assistant Chairs, full-time faculty and part-time faculty who are employed during the nomination process are eligible to be nominated within his/her academic category.
ELIGIBILITY TO NOMINATE
Senate constituents who are who are employed during the nomination process are eligible to nominate senate candidates within his/her academic category.
ELIGIBILITY TO SERVE ON THE ACADEMIC SENATE
Chairs, Assistant Chairs, full-time faculty and part-time faculty who are employed during the term period in question, are eligible to serve on the Academic Senate.
ANOMALIES
1. Constituents belonging to more than one academic category, such as faculty who teach in more than one school, shall be asked to select one academic category for the nomination and election process.
The following anomalies, which represent a small minority, shall be addressed on a case-by-case basis:

Constituents whose academic category is temporary and subject to change within the nomination/election process and/or within the proscribed term, such as: • Faculty who are appointed to one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track positions • Department chairs who are scheduled to step down and return to faculty • Faculty who are chair candidates with prospect of chair appointment
3. Constituents with partial-year or seasonal teaching assignments, such as: • Faculty who teach, one time, in one semester, Fall or Spring. • Faculty who routinely teach, in one semester, Fall or Spring. • Full-time staff members with faculty status who routinely teach in one semester, Fall or Spring
FACULTY DATABASE
Faculty databases will be provided by Human Resources and the Provost’s Office, as follows:
• For Nominations in Fall 2009, final faculty list after September 1, 2009
• For Elections in Spring 2010, final faculty list after January 29, 2010 |
