Charles 'Stewart' Parker, FT faculty

Charles 'Stewart' Parker, Associate Professor, Associate Degree Programs; is a painter and illustrator with clients in Europe and the United States. "I have been a FT Assistant Professor at Pratt since 2005, and presently teach Light Color Design, Drawing, and Illustration in the Associate Degree Programs.

As well as teaching at Pratt I have been active on a number of committees including the Faculty Development Fund, Distinguished Teacher Award, and Faculty Peer Review Committees, while also regularly taking part in Open House events and Portfolio days. This work outside of the studio gives me valuable insight into the importance of good academic administration, as well as the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with faculty from many different disciplines in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

I would value the opportunity to represent full-time faculty from the School of Art and Design, and contribute to the important work done by the Academic Senate in shaping the future at Pratt."

Patrick Webb, FT faculty

Patrick Webb, Associate Professor, Foundation Art. I am a painter who has exhibited work throughout the US. I received grants from the National Endowment, Ingram Merrill, and Art Matters Foundations. My BFA is from MICA, my MFA from Yale University and I attended the Skowhegan School. I have taught at PRATT in the Foundation Department since 1995 and have been a full-time Associate Professor since 2004. I came to PRATT after teaching for 16 years at various art schools and universities, including Cornell, Yale, RISD, University of Wisconsin and the New York Academy. I believe PRATT is a unique institution with a strong commitment to both studio practice and an active liberal arts program, a balance I strongly support. However I also believe making things is as much an intellectual activity as writing and speaking about them. The challenge for PRATT is to integrate both studio experience and liberal arts without compromising the integrity of either mode of investigation.

Courses taught include Drawing & Light Color & Design for the Foundation Department as well as Painting in Fine Arts. He is currently a Coordinator of Drawing in the Foundation Department. He has served two terms on the Academic Senate

???It has been my experience that the Senate has contributed significantly to the notion of faculty participation and cooperation in governance within the Institute, providing a valuable means for discussion and critique of administrative actions and policies that effect our students and their education.

Given my past experience on the Senate and my familiarity with other departments within the Institute, I believe that I am able to fairly and actively represent the educational views and concerns of Pratt faculty and I welcome the opportunity to continue to do so.???
