Draft IP Policy
Pratt Institute's Draft Intellectual Property Policy (51 KB PDF) was issued for community review by Provost Peter Barna on October 9, 2006, in an email that read as follows:
From: Peter Barna
Sent: Monday, October 09, 2006 12:56 PM Subject: Community Review Phase of the DRAFT Intellectual Property Policy
Dear Staff, Students, Academic Senate, Dean’s, Directors, and Chairs:
I am pleased to announce the Community Review Phase of the proposed DRAFT of the Institute’s Intellectual Property Policy. This attached DRAFT has been one year in the making by the Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) of the Board of Trustees, and has been shaped by significant input from faculty, staff and students serving on this committee.
This Community Review Phase will last one month, and be culminate with a representative from each of the four major stakeholders giving a verbal and written presentation of their constituent’s comments before the AAC at its mid-November meeting (date and time TBA).
Faculty, staff, and students are asked to provide comments to the: Academic Senate, Dean’s Council, Student Government, or Institutional Advancement. (Faculty should direct their comments to either their Senators or to their Chairs/Directors. Staff should provide comments to their supervisor, and students to their Student Government officers. The Academic Affairs Committee will not entertain input directly from individuals.)
An information presentation of this DRAFT will be held on Monday, October 16th from 12:15pm to 1pm in the Alumni Reading Room for all interested parties (faculty, students, and staff) by the Office of the Provost.
Attendance at this information session is not required. This session will not address concerns related to specific clauses in the policy, but is only to clarify the overall intentions and process used in creating the DRAFT. Please forward this announcement and attached draft to all your constituents and/or employees and encourage interested parties to attend and participate.
Thank you,
Peter
